Short dance, at least the Gators weren’t the first team eliminated, thank you Notre Dame.
What do you want Gator basketball fans? We still have 2 titles in the past 5 seasons. Gators are 12-1 in the tourney their past 13 games and that was a 2-OT loss. Not cheering you up yet?
Here are some hard facts: Florida had 2 chances to win the game, one at the end of regulation and the second at the end of overtime with just a pathetic attempt, i guess you could call that a shot?! Dan Werner looked like he was in better position for the block, guess we should have informed him he was on offense.
Florida has little or no depth, the guards are very short, meaning on defense guys go over them easy and on offense they have to shoot the rock from further out since they can be blocked so easily. Shooting that far out takes it’s toll, just look at the 3-point % of this Florida team (258th worst in the NCAA) . Saying all that, Donovan can still coach, he can still recruit and last time I checked he still has 2 National Titles. Look at coach K, he’s been coaching at Duke for 30 seasons and he only has 1 more National Title than Billy and his last one was back in 2001. Back then gas was still $1.50, Blockbuster stores were renting VHS tapes and you could go to a movie then for $6.50.
Does any of this help fans? How about this: Dan Werner is a senior. I know what you’re going to say, he does the little things right, you’re correct he does but when you’re a leader and senior and score 4.6 points a game you better do something! Hell he’s on the front court and only averages 4 rebounds a game. It’s not Dan’s fault though, Billy is the one who recruited him. 🙂 Still not feeling better, how about this:
URBAN MEYER AND SPRING FOOTBALL ARE BACK IN FULL SWING!
Thought that would help. Rejoice basketball fans for the season is over. The Gators finished 21-13, and made the big dance. Perennial powerhouse and defending champion North Carolina didn’t even do that nor did UConn, Arizona or UCLA. I told my wife when she was filling out her NCAA bracket that taking the Gators to the Elite 8 might have been a stretch, but you can’t win an argument with a lawyer. Sorry about your bracket honey, don’t say you weren’t warned.
Back to the football thing:
Urban Meyer was back on the field yesterday in Gainesville and he says he’s been back as head coach for around 2 weeks! That my friend is GREAT news. To all you rival haters who said Urban wouldn’t be back and that he was lying to all the recruits: SUCK IT, your owner is back and he’s taking you to school again. I think this clip sums it up:
Just to make sure you understand, Wyatt Earp, played by Kurt Russell is Urban Meyer and Florida. The haters are represented nicely by the cowardly cowboy running away on his butt.
FYI: You can pick up the Blu-Ray version of Tombstone starting April 27th, 2010. Pre-order your’s today. (legal mumble jumbo) Don’t have a Blu-Ray player? No problem, just go out and buy one.
Finally…Bueller, Bueller, Bueller?
With March Madness just getting into full gear and with the really nice weather I thought this would be the perfect thing to share with you. Ferris Bueller’s tips for skipping school. Also note this can be applied to skipping work as well. Just follow Ferris Bueller’s advice and you’ll be watching the rest of the NCAA tourney from the comfort of you own home. Enjoy~
